I always wanted to place an order from ColourPop, and when they had free international shipping I had to place an order. I ordered 8 Super Shock Eyeshadows, a Super Shock Cheek (highlighter) and 2 Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks.
The shipping was slightly below average in that it took about 3 weeks to arrive- however I did get an email informing me of a delay in shipping. The packaging was cute and no products were damaged, so we were off to a great start!
The consistency of ColourPop shadows is bouncy to the touch (comparable to the Maybeline bouncy blushes). When applied, it’s a powder. They’re supposedly best applied with your fingers, but I haven’t had a chance to try them yet! However, they swatch BEAUTIFULLY! They are super pigmented. The highlighter is the same consistency. The liquid lipsticks are watery and not creamy, so they are easy to apply precisely.
Pictured is the KathleenLights x ColourPop collaboration, the ‘Where the Light Is’ quad. The four shadows that come with it are called Glow, KathleenLights, Blaze and Cornelius. KathleenLights is an amazing youtuber and has done many collaborations with ColourPop, from shadows to liquid lipsticks and lip liners. This quad is available on the ColourPop website for $18 USD. They are also available for individual sale for $5 USD each, so getting the quad saves you $2. ColourPop also offers 5$ off your first order if you sign up for their email list, as well as free US shipping on orders over $30!
Swatches from wrist down include Glow (a creamy matte vanilla), Blaze (a coco bronze with a metallic finish and multidimensional glitter), KathleenLights (a pearlized bright golden copper) and Cornelius (a matte caramel).
Glow doesn’t show up on my forearm well- it still swatches nicely, but I think I’m too pale for the pigment to shine. The other colours are beautiful, smooth and pigmented. If you’re a fan of warm, bronze eye makeup or a fan of KathleenLights I definitely recommend picking this quad up!
I also picked up a highlighter in the shade Flexitarian ($8 USD), and four Super Shock Shadows in the shades Mixed Tape, Paradox, Central Perk, and Bubbly ($5 USD). These shadows are just as nice as the KathleenLights quad, and the highlighter is to DIE for.
From wrist down is Flexitarian, Mixed Tape, Paradox, Central Perk and Bubbly. Flexitarian is a stunning highlighter- it is more cool toned than I thought when I purchased it though. I definitely recommend this for someone who’s very pale, as it’s even a little bit light on me. I’ve heard really good things about Wisp (that it’s a dupe for Champagne Pop by Becca, which is one of my favourites) and I plan on ordering a few more highlighters next time they offer free international shipping.
These shadows are absolutely stunning as well. The pigmentation is so strong and they are very nice to the touch. The range of colours than ColourPop carries is amazing, and they’re such good prices! I definitely recommend picking some up if you’re late to the ColorPop bandwagon like I am, or some more if you’ve already tried them and loved them!
The last two items I purchased were the Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks in shades More Better and Times Square. These are sold for $6 USD and are a steal at that price. More Better looks absolutely beautiful on my pale skin, it definitely has cool undertones that make my teeth look really white. Times Square is also beautiful, and since my lips are naturally pretty pigmented it’s my perfect nude shade. The only issue I had with these is even when they’ve completely dried down, there is still transfer. For $6, I don’t mind, but the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks are still my favourite by far. If you’re new to makeup or liquid lipsticks and don’t want to spend a lot right away, these are definitely worth picking up, but for a more seasoned makeup collector I’d probably skip on them.
