Fall Favourites 2016

What’s better than the pumpkin-spice-everything that comes with fall? The fall makeup. There’s nothing better than breaking out that old shade you forgot about and falling in love with it all over again! My favourites this fall have been the Morphe 35F Palette, the HudaBeauty Sasha #11 Falsies, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in shade Ashton, the OFRA liquid lipstick in the shade Miami Fever and MAC lipstick in the shade Rebel.

Here are some mini reviews about each product and why they remind me of autumn!

First off, we have the Morphe 35F palette (AKA Fall into Frost). The entire bottom row is matte and the rest are shimmer shades. This retails for $22.99 USD. I love Morphe shaows. They are so pigmented and blend effortlessly- and they are such an amazing price. My favourite shadows from this palette are the mattes, but the shimmery colours are just as beautiful. The champagnes, maroons and browns are perfect for a nice warm eye look. These eyeshadows make me want to curl up with a book and a PSL.

For the lips, I’ve been loving Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in shade Ashton. Its $26 CAD and is described as a “midtone yellow brown”, however it pulls more brown on me. It’s a nice neutral toned brown, and the ABH liquid lipsticks are some of my absolute favourites. They dry down nicely and aren’t overly drying. They don’t transfer at all, which I love!

The next shade I have is the Ofra x KathleenLights collaboration in Miami Fever. This is a beautiful terracotta burnt orange shade. Unfortunately, this was a limited edition release and is no longer available. If you bought this last year like I did, it’s time to crack it out again! Ofra liquid lipsticks have been steadily gaining popularity since this collab and for a good reason. This is the only shade I own, however most people say the formula is consistent. The formula is comparable to the NYX soft matte lip creams, except it fully dries down. If you prefer a creamier liquid lipstick formula, definitely try out the Ofra line! Their liquid lipsticks are $19.90 USD, and including shipping my lipstick was about $40 CAD.

Finally, I have a lipstick by MAC in the shade Rebel. I bought this in their holiday collection two years ago… just look at the beautiful sparkle packaging! I left mine either by my hair straightener or in the car for too long, and the lid melted and now has a dent. But the lipstick was unharmed, so that’s what counts! It’s a beautiful, creamy warm purple. For those who seek a little bit of colour in the fall, this shade is to die for. It’s part of their permanent collection, so you can still pick it up! It retails for $21 CAD. MAC lipsticks are cult favourites. Rebel is a satin plum colour, as described on their website.

As the weather starts getting cooler, it’s important to keep your lips moisturized (and your skin!). I have been really enjoying the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. I use the shade clear, as I’m not a fan of tinted lip balms. I normally wear lipstick, anyways. This is $29 CAD and although a little pricey I find it does a great job of prepping the lips for the cold season. The scent is very soft, but still nice. Perfect for someone who is sensitive to fragrances.

My final favourite this fall has been the Huda Beauty Sasha #11 lashes, they are described as being a  “medium volume, natural style” lash, however they are the longest lashes I own, and fairly full. I used these in my Deer Makeup Tutorial. Lashes can get pretty pricey, and these retail for $22 CAD. These make the perfect addition to a full face of fall makeup, but be warned! If you wear glasses like I do, they’ll touch the end of your glasses for sure. I find that to be very annoying, but I typically only wear my glasses to drive so it’s not an issue for me.

What’s your must have product this fall? Leave a comment and let me know, I’d love to try some new products!
